ART-A-PORTER GADGETS ACCESSOIRES


Started as a conceptual art project by EDUARD VAN GIEL.
( owner of the label " A " narchi(c) concept design )

Basic Theme : Virtual psychological constructions, or playing with the ideas and actualised philosophies of :
    - Warhol : art = the product & the product = art ( 'Campbell Soup' )
    - Beuys : art = capital
    - Benetton : ( fashion ) imago & label building ( not showing the product advertised )
    - Absolut ( the posters ) : art-advertising

The building up of 'label value' by the spectator : collector : consumer himself, by virtual & psychological
impulses created by the concept design, transmitted in a kind of measurable and visual reality via scenario
and 'mise en scËne' of the artist, object and trade name ( or label ).

Cf. G Bijl's idea of a store or an office as a work of art, Gilbert & George's series of photographs as
managers, or Wim Delvoye's logo - design. The combination 'Coca - Cola & Ford' but further elaborated.


" A " narchi(c) distincts itself on the market and on Internet, building up a very limited collection
( Limited Editions ). 'Parfois Deux PiËces'.

Our aim is to participate in various projects, to collaborate with other artists around themes and activities
such as Art / Fashion / N.O.N. Design and Marketing / Research / Art & Product etc., and to contact
and contract entrepreneurs and executives of companies who understand our policies and mutual
interest and benefit: the promoting of our products together with theirs, witch is PHASE 1.

The promoting of our product through an 'art-act' or an artistic happening, an installation, a lightbox video
etc., the showing of a work of art linked to a product etc. Or call it 'label building' via 'poster' - editions.

We intend to proceed according to the prevailing fashion and trends of market research, marketing and
image building - and sometimes, as true '
" A " narchi(c)(s)ts' , against those trends too - but always in a permanent interaction between brand or trademark, artist and designer, inventor and work of art,
producer and his factory. I also call this 'Works in Progress'.

The series 'LINE IN PROGRESS' ( posters / luxury editions )

The
" A " narchi(c) 'posters' will be brought out / launched as a graphic work of an 'Acte de PrÈsence', an
appearance from one or more video - and other artists, designers, photographers, models and so on.
Consequently one should consider them as instantaneous exposures of a 'studio action' photo - or
videographically recorded, and printed as a 'video still' from video work of art.

They are the basis for the conceptual process
" A " narchi(c) , displaying its fundamental philosophy as well
as the vision of those artists involved.

These graphic works of art, measuring 80 x 120 cm and printed in quadri color on 220 grams quality paper,
will be ( per project ) published in numbered and signed ( hence limited ) editions, marked with studio stamps.
